Hong Kong stocks opened higher on the first trading day of 2H25. The HSI opened 232 points or 1% higher at 24,304. The HSCEI opened 95 points or 1.1% higher at 8,773. The HSTECH opened 56 points or 1.1% higher at 5,359.

Macau's June GGR rose 19% YoY, beating forecasts and marking the second-highest month post-COVID-19. Casinos GALAXY ENT (00027.HK)  +0.150 (+0.405%)    Short selling $78.19M; Ratio 15.652%   and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK)  -0.140 (-0.787%)    Short selling $116.42M; Ratio 26.801%   escalated 9% and 6%, while ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK)  -0.200 (-0.941%)    Short selling $353.98M; Ratio 37.146%   mounted 3.7% as it got approval from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the spin-off and listing of Zijin Gold International on the main board.

For carmakers, LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK)  -0.950 (-1.645%)    Short selling $27.97M; Ratio 6.397%   jumped up 3.1% as its deliveries reached a record high of 48,000 units last month, while GEELY AUTO (00175.HK)  -0.200 (-1.215%)    Short selling $174.92M; Ratio 25.400%   leaped 4.8% as its total auto sales rose 42% YoY last month. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK)  +0.600 (+0.582%)    Short selling $484.89M; Ratio 36.203%   's June deliveries slipped 11% MoM, with i8/ i6 to be released in July/ September, denting its share price by 0.7%.

GAC GROUP (02238.HK)  -0.030 (-0.997%)    Short selling $23.03M; Ratio 18.275%   said its first model in cooperation with Huawei is expected to debut next year and GAC Aion is waiting for the right timing for planned Hong Kong IPO. Hence, its stock price opened flat at $2.87.

Xiaomi Auto's deliveries in June exceeded 25,000 units, while YU7 will see launch of limited-time configuration change in mainland China. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)  -0.600 (-1.033%)    Short selling $709.06M; Ratio 9.357%   added 0.8% to $60.4, while BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)  -1.500 (-1.220%)    Short selling $1.16B; Ratio 47.087%   and XPENG-W (09868.HK)  -4.850 (-6.558%)    Short selling $1.50B; Ratio 35.145%   each climbed 2%.
