Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) announced June GGR of MOP21.064 billion, up 19% from MOP17.694 billion in the same period last year; the first half-year GGR reached MOP118.771 billion, up 4.4% YoY, reported Macau Daily News.

June is traditionally a low season for tourism, and Macau's GGR is projected to subside, but June's GGR is impressive. Analysts attributed this to the opening of luxury hotels attracting high-end travelers to Macau, paired with popular concerts which have helped bring in consumers with spending power.

Scholars suggested that if the number of visitors continues to rise, it could further boost GGR, potentially reaching the government's initial estimate of MOP240 billion for the year.

June's GGR touched MOP21 billion, slightly less than May's GGR, boosted by the May Day Golden Week, by MOP 1.29 billion, approximately recovering to nearly 89% of the same period in 2019 pre-pandemic, becoming the second highest post-pandemic month for GGR. June's daily run-rate was MOP702 million, better than May's MOP683 million.
