A group of wealthy investors will propose to acquire the U.S. operations of the short video platform TikTok, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

There is already a buyer for TikTok's U.S. operations, said Trump, believing that the transaction requires approval from China. He also thinks Chinese President Xi Jinping will nod to the deal.

Trump did not provide any details about the buyer, only referring to them as a group of very wealthy people, adding that information will be disclosed in about two weeks.
