The HSI ebbed 15 points or 0.1% to 24,309 at midday. The HSCEI slid 26 points or 0.3% to 8,7767. The HSTECH inched up 7 points or 0.1% to 5,352. Total half-day turnover of the market amounted to $162.429 billion.

Xiaomi's EV, YU7, received nearly 290,000 orders in the first hour of public sale, boosting its ADR by nearly 10%. The company's H-shares opened 8% higher at a new high of $61.45, and leaped 4.4% to $59.4 at midday. For other carmakers, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)  -1.500 (-1.193%)    Short selling $923.24M; Ratio 18.369%   shed 1.8%, while XPENG-W (09868.HK)  -2.350 (-3.169%)    Short selling $860.99M; Ratio 28.296%   and NIO-SW (09866.HK)  -0.500 (-1.842%)    Short selling $79.13M; Ratio 39.703%   waned 2.9% and 2.6%. Battery stock CATL (03750.HK)  +2.400 (+0.739%)    Short selling $427.75M; Ratio 31.095%   climbed 1.4%.

For other stocks, pharmas REMEGEN (09995.HK)  -3.650 (-6.166%)    Short selling $98.12M; Ratio 8.795%   and BEIGENE (06160.HK)  -14.900 (-9.181%)    Short selling $160.75M; Ratio 7.867%   cascaded 4.6% and 8.4%, while casino MELCO INT'L DEV (00200.HK)  -0.170 (-4.106%)    Short selling $3.47M; Ratio 3.058%   shrank 4.1%.

Nike (NKE.US)      reduced its production in China to minimize the impact of the US tariffs. SHENZHOU INTL (02313.HK)  +1.000 (+1.852%)    Short selling $79.96M; Ratio 17.802%   mounted 3%. NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK)  -0.120 (-2.058%)    Short selling $54.35M; Ratio 19.536%   reportedly received preliminary approval from all participating lending banks for a $87.5 billion refinancing plan. Its share price opened 2.1% higher before declining, and lost 0.7% at midday.

CHINA TRAVEL HK (00308.HK)  -0.510 (-25.628%)    Short selling $103.05M; Ratio 5.178%   said it is conducted a strategic review of its business layout and portfolio, and has not yet made a decision. Therefore, its stock opened 14.6% higher in morning session, and plunged 18.1% at midday, with a turnover of more than $1.56 billion. CITYCHAMP (00256.HK)  +0.125 (+30.120%)   rocketed 90% to $0.79 at midday, with a turnover of $2.29 billion.
