The market assessed Federal Reserve officials' interest rate cut expectations, while the White House indicated that US President Donald Trump might extend the tariff pause deadline.

US bourse opened higher and continued to hike on Thursday. The DJIA closed up 404 points or 0.9%, at 43,386; the S&P 500 closed up 48 points or 0.8%, at 6,141, close to the record high of 6,147. The Nasdaq jumped up 194 points or 1%, closing at 20,167.

Related NewsGDP Growth Rate QoQ Final for Q1 in United States is -0.5%, lower than the previous value of 2.4%. The forecast was -0.2%.
Techs were in a mixed bag, with Meta (META.US)      soaring 2.5%, Microsoft (MSFT.US)      adding 1.1%, and Nvidia (NVDA.US)      narrowing its gains to 0.5%.

Micron (MU.US)      reported last quarter's revenue and profit beat, but its stock price ended down 1%.
