The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) announced that in the past few hours, squally showers associated with the tropical depression continued to affect the coast of Guangdong. Locally, around 20 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places, with occasionally strong winds on high ground.

With the tropical depression moving into the inland areas of Guangxi, weakening gradually and departing from Hong Kong, its threat to the territory will diminish in the afternoon. The Observatory will cancel all Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals at 2:20 p.m..

However, the rainbands associated with the tropical depression will still bring squalls to the territory today. There will also be swells.
