The HSI settled the midday up 185 points or 0.8% at 24,362. The HSCEI rose 59 points or 0.7% to 8,820. The HSTECH climbed 42 points or 0.8% to 5,340. The total half-day turnover for the market amounted to HKD129.905 billion.

China greenlighted a total of 158 Chinese-made and imported games in June, including the titles from TENCENT (00700.HK)  -3.500 (-0.683%)    Short selling $415.77M; Ratio 10.712%   and NTES-S (09999.HK)  -2.000 (-0.950%)    Short selling $67.03M; Ratio 9.358%   . TENCENT and NTES-S inched up 0.1% and 0.9%, respectively. JD-SW (09618.HK)  -0.100 (-0.077%)    Short selling $102.38M; Ratio 15.689%   plans to hire more full-time couriers for its food delivery service. Its stock price advanced 2.5%, and JD LOGISTICS (02618.HK)  -0.460 (-3.490%)    Short selling $13.57M; Ratio 13.722%   was hyped up 6.7%.

The launch of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)  -0.450 (-0.794%)    Short selling $451.84M; Ratio 11.920%   's YU7 was still in the market spotlight. XIAOMI-W opened up 1% but eventually ended the midday down 0.2%. As for other carmakers, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)  -4.200 (-3.233%)    Short selling $349.71M; Ratio 20.782%   and NIO-SW (09866.HK)  -0.600 (-2.178%)    Short selling $11.74M; Ratio 23.923%   gained 0.6% and 2.8%. MEITU (01357.HK)  +0.030 (+0.359%)    Short selling $46.45M; Ratio 12.705%   's founder acquired a nearly 35% stake in CH FIN LEASING (02312.HK)  +0.190 (+16.964%)   at a premium. CH FIN LEASING mushroomed 3.11x to HKD1.38 after resuming trading. GUOTAI JUNAN I (01788.HK)  -0.400 (-10.811%)    Short selling $134.95M; Ratio 0.780%   received approval from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission to provide virtual asset trading services, lifting its stock price by 68% to HKD2.09 with a turnover of over HKD4.3 billion. Stablecoin concept ZA ONLINE (06060.HK)  -1.580 (-7.924%)    Short selling $635.87M; Ratio 26.636%   eroded 4.4%.

Chinese brokers saw speculation, with CSC (06066.HK)  -0.480 (-4.348%)    Short selling $8.19M; Ratio 6.075%   and GTHT (02611.HK)  -0.840 (-6.204%)    Short selling $30.83M; Ratio 5.184%   spiking 6.4% and 5.1%.
