The Iranian government has launched missiles at a US air base in Qatar in response to the US airstrike on Iranian nuclear facilities last weekend, according to state-run media in Iran. Qatar announced the closure of its airspace shortly before the airstrike news spread.

Iran launched at least six missiles at the US base in Qatar, Bloomberg quoted insiders as saying. Reuters said that, due to concerns of a potential attack, the US air base in Iraq also activated its air defense system.

The DJIA slid over 50 points or 0.1% following the news. The S&P 500 also slightly ebbed 1 point, while the Nasdaq mounted by 3 points. Oil prices saw deeper declines, with Brent and New York oils expanding their declines from 1% in the morning session to over 2%.
