Tesla (TSLA.US) officially launched a pilot test of its Robotaxi in Austin, Texas over the past weekend, according to foreign media. The first batch of trial vehicles will operate only in a small part of Austin, with a human 'safety monitor' seated in the front passenger seat. Users who experience the service early will pay a fixed fee of US$4.2 per vehicle.Tesla has not disclosed further details of the trial, but some participating users said that Robotaxi will provide services in certain areas of the city from 6 am to midnight every day.
