Short-haul flight capacity in the Hong Kong market recorded double-digit growth YTD, reflecting the increased time resources following the opening of Hong Kong's three-runway system in November 2024, which also intensified competition in the low-cost carrier market, Jeanette Mao, CEO of CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK)  +0.060 (+0.596%)    Short selling $11.72M; Ratio 15.113%   's HK Express, said.

Passenger capacity has increased by over 35% YoY YTD, and is expected to grow by 30-40% for the entire year, aiming to surpass last year's 6 million passenger capacity, Mao added.

The Company plans to attract travelers from the Greater Bay Area and overseas by developing featured destinations and offering cost-effective ticket prices to enhance competitiveness.
