This year's 618 shopping festival is the first major mid-year promotion since Pinduoduo (PDD.US)      rolled out its "RMB100 billion support" program, Chinese media reported.

To further boost home appliance consumption, Pinduoduo said that it had launched large-value consumer vouchers on top of national subsidies. Consumers may receive voucher packages worth up to RMB3,750, with a maximum reduction of RMB1,000 for each order.

Driven by Pinduoduo's "RMB100 billion support" program, the number of new-quality merchants and brands signing up for major promotions has surged by 173% YoY so far.
