Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities said in a social media post that Apple (AAPL.US)      would finalize the specifications for its first foldable iPhone this quarter and officially launch the project next quarter, with plans to start mass production in 4Q26. The second-generation foldable phone, meanwhile, is expected to enter mass production in 2H27.

In Kuo's estimates, the complexity of Apple's first foldable iPhone will limit the scale of mass production, which is expected to persist until 2027. He also anticipated the shipment volume of foldable phones next year to be 3-5 million units. Together with the second-generation model, the total shipment of foldable iPhones could reach 20 million units by 2027.
