China currently lacks the capability for mass production of high-end chips, indicating that US export control measures are restricting China's technological advancement, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick was quoted as saying by foreign media.

He estimated that China may be capable of producing about 200,000 advanced chips used for AI training or in smartphones, but this is far from meeting China's demand.
