Speaking to reporters before the Executive Council meeting, John Lee announced that Hong Kong will host two significant international conferences for the first time in June, including the International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (ISTIF) of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 2025 Hong Kong Conference, which will attract over 800 participants, with speakers including former national leaders and senior representatives of international organizations, expanding Hong Kong's international network in technology and innovation.

The second conference is the International Conference on Roads and Railways 2025 (ICRR2025), where experts and scholars from Switzerland, Germany and Hong Kong will discuss related fields.
