EU regulators warned Shein that it may face fines if it does not rectify practices on its platform that violate consumer protection law, as the European Commission and consumer protection agencies from Belgium, France, Ireland and the Netherlands found a number of violations of consumer protection laws on the Shein platform, including allegedly advertising fake discounts, using digitization to pressure consumers to buy, displaying misleading or false product information and hiding contact details of the company's customer service, etc., according to foreign media.
