US President Donald Trump said after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia and Ukraine will immediately begin negotiations on ceasefire, emphasizing the importance of ending the war as soon as possible, according to foreign media. However, the Moscow Kremlin said that more time is needed to reach an agreement.

Trump mentioned on a social media that the ceasefire plan has been conveyed to the Ukrainian President, as well as leaders of the EU, France, Italy, Germany and Finland. The US is not yet prepared to impose new sanctions on Russia in conjunction with Europe.
