US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that Walmart (WMT.US)      should stop blaming price hikes on tariffs, according to foreign media. He criticized the company for earning several billions of USD last year, far beating expectations, and believed that tariffs should be borne by Walmart and China, not by consumers.

The price hike was implemented in May, and the increase will become more apparent thereafter, Walmart's CFO, John David Rainey, said.

Rainey believed that the operating environment in the retail industry has become very challenging, with unprecedented rapid and drastic price hikes. However, due to the significant tariff hikes, retailers could not absorb the costs alone.
