China and the US held a 2-day trade and economic dialog in Switzerland, Citi Research issued a research report saying. The broker believed that this progress could lead to a Phase 1.5 agreement that would resolve the easy parts of the trade talks between the two countries.

The fentanyl tariffs and escalating tariffs could be eliminated, and China could make concessions in reversible areas. Citi Research believed that the likelihood of the effective tariff rate dropping to around 45% is increasing as the talks move into what could be a trickier part of the negotiations.
