Mainland China faced deflation for three months in a row. In April 2025, the nationwide consumer price index (CPI) sank 0.1% YoY, in line with market expectations, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed. Among which, the index in urban areas remained flat, while rural areas saw a 0.3% decline. Food prices dropped 0.2%, and non-food prices were unchanged. Consumer goods prices dipped 0.3%, and service prices added 0.3%.
