China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that the National Export Control Work Coordination Office organized a special on-site meeting today (9th) with the MOC, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of State Security, General Administration of Customs, Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the State Post Bureau in Shenzhen. During the meeting, they discussed deploying a targeted operation against the smuggling and illegal export of strategic minerals and coordinating specific actions.

The meeting emphasized that strengthening export controls on strategic mineral resources is vital to China's security and development interests. Since China implemented export controls on strategic minerals such as gallium, germanium, antimony, tungsten, and medium-to-heavy rare earths, some overseas entities have colluded with domestic lawbreakers to constantly devise new smuggling methods in an attempt to evade enforcement.
