After the shareholders' meeting, Francis Lui, Chairman of GALAXY ENT (00027.HK)  +0.300 (+0.987%)    Short selling $102.07M; Ratio 23.221%   , said that he was satisfied with the double-digit YoY growth in the company's overall business turnover during the May Day Golden Week. He also added that both gaming and non-gaming businesses outperformed last year clearly, even though he had not yet received data on per capita spending.

While the tariff war will inevitably affect global consumer confidence, Lui stated that there has been no direct impact from tariffs on Macau so far as the city's main industry is not export-oriented. In the near term, the group will adopt various strategies in rewards and marketing, including ramping up investment in entertainment in May and June to invite more well-known artists to perform in Macau.
