CCTV's Yuyuantantian posted that the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) held a regular press conference this afternoon (8th), during which reporters asked questions about the US-China high-level economic and trade talks.

China's position of firmly opposing the US' tariff abuse is consistent, He Yadong, a spokesperson of the MOFCOM, said. If the US wants to solve the problem through negotiations, it should face squarely the serious negative impact of unilateral tariff measures on itself and the world, international economic and trade rules, fairness & justice and rational voices from all walks of life, and show its sincerity in negotiation.

The US should also be prepared to take action on correcting its wrong practices and canceling the unilateral tariff hike, so as to make positive efforts to solve the concern of the two countries through equal consultation.
