HKEX (00388.HK)  +10.400 (+3.052%)    Short selling $320.02M; Ratio 9.821%   's 1Q25 results were in line with expectations, with net profit growing 37% YoY on the back of a sharp rise in average daily turnover (ADT) and stronger-than-expected net interest margin, according to a research report issued by UOB Kay Hian.

Operating expense costs were contained at 7% YOY incline, partially offsetting the impact of a higher tax rate.

UOB Kay Hian lowered its 2025-2027 profit forecasts for HKEX by 0.6%/ 1%/ 0.8% each to reflect the negative impact of the acquisition of the Exchange Square and the higher effective tax rate. The broker also dropped its target price from $394 to $390, with rating kept at Buy.
