China noticed that the US has repeatedly stated that it is willing to negotiate with China on tariff issues, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) responded to the US-China economic and trade dialog and consultations by saying.

Meanwhile, the US recently took the initiative to convey information to China through relevant parties many times, hoping to talk with China. In this regard, China is conducting an assessment.

China's position remains unchanged, i.e. China will fight to the end, while its door is wide open for talks, the spokesman reiterated. The tariff and trade wars were unilaterally initiated by the US.

If the US wants to talk, it should show its sincerity in doing so, and should make preparations and take actions to rectify its wrong practices and abolish the unilateral tariff hike.

China noted that the US has recently been releasing information on the adjustment of tariff measures, the spokesman added. China would like to emphasize that, if the US does not correct its erroneous unilateral tariff measures in any possible dialogue and talks, it shows that the US is totally insincere and will further undermine the mutual trust between the two countries.
