Markets kept their eyes wide on major corporate earnings, alleviating concerns about an economic slowdown, leading U.S. stocks to open higher and trend higher on Thursday.

Fueled by robust share rally in Microsoft (MSFT.US)      and Meta (META.US)      , the Nasdaq surged 264 points, or 1.5%, to 17,710 at close, outrunning the market. The S&P 500 rose 35 points, or 0.6%, to 5,604, while the DJIA gained 83 points, or 0.2%, to 40,752.

Microsoft’s 3FQ revenue and earnings beat, with Azure cloud revenue up 33%, boosting its stock by 7.6%. Meta’s 1Q net profit soared 35%, far exceeding forecasts, with daily active users at 3.43 billion, uplifting its stock by 4.2%.

Tesla (TSLA.US)      dismissed reports of seeking a successor for Elon Musk, with its stock slipping 0.6%. Nvidia (NVDA.US)      swelled 2.5%. Apple (AAPL.US)      , set to report earnings after the close, added 0.4%, while Amazon (AMZN.US)      leaped 3.1%.
