On December 25, 2024, the 13th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) voted on the decision to convene the 3rd Session of the 14th NPC. According to the decision, the 3rd Session of the 14th NPC will be held on March 5, 2025 in Beijing.

The decision proposed that the agenda of the 3rd Session of the 14th NPC will be: examining the Report on the Work of the Government; reviewing the Report on the Implementation of the National Economic and Social Development Plan for 2024 and the Draft National Economic and Social Development Plan for 2025; as well as the Draft National Economic and Social Development Plan for 2025; and reviewing the Report on the Implementation of the Central and Local Budgets for 2024 and the Draft Central and Local Budgets for 2025, and more.

In addition, the 29th Chairman's Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held recently considered and passed the draft decision on convening the 3rd Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, proposing that the 3rd Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC be convened on March 4, 2025 in Beijing.
