The US Chamber of Commerce sent an email to its members stating that the US government plans to announce as early as this Thursday (28th) new export restrictions on China, which may add up to 200 Chinese chip companies to the trade restriction list and prohibit most US suppliers from shipping to these targeted companies, according to a Reuters report.

The email also mentioned that the Department of Commerce, which is responsible for US export policy, aims to announce these new regulations this Thursday before the Thanksgiving holiday, and to announce a set of rules next month restricting the shipment of high-bandwidth memory chips to China.
