HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)  -1.550 (-2.211%)    Short selling $346.37M; Ratio 13.774%   announced at noon that its 1Q24 reported profit before tax was in line with expectations, with quarterly dividend together with special dividend of US$31 cents per share, and a dividend payout ratio target for 2024 kept at 50%.

HSBC HOLDINGS also announced a new round of share buyback program of up to US$3 billion, with scale larger than expected.
