The licence price of Hong Kong's public light buses (minibuses) dropped drastically.

A social media page of the industry recently posted an article saying that a local bank took action against minibus owners who did not repay loans of $4 million to $5 million, by issuing a letter to call loan and even seize the minibuses.

The Hong Kong Taxi and Public Light Bus Association (HKTBA) issued a statement today (21st). Regarding to recent reports saying that minibuses were being towed away as a result of bank calling loan, the Association said that there was no such incident after understanding and analyzing the incident.

The minibuses were towed away only because certain owners failed to make contributions. The Association appealed to members that their taxis and minibuses would not be towed away as long as they were punctual in making contributions.
