LOTUS (00121) announced that Soopakij Chearavanont had resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect from 1st August 2012 in order to focus on his role as Chairman of the company. Jimmy Ardell Schafer has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect from 1st August 2012.

Schafer was the Chief Operating Officer of Reliance Retail Limited from 2009 - 2011.
